How does Ethernet DIA work?
Also known as Ethernet over Copper (EoC), Ethernet over DS1 (EoDS1), and Ethernet over DS3 (EoDS3), LaunchNet Ethernet DIA is a cost-effective solution for connecting your business to the Internet and extending your Local and Wide Area Network. This solution utilizes a reliable copper loop bonding technology to deliver a single symmetrical connection - with upload and download speeds of up to 20 Mbps. LaunchNet Ethernet DIA is easy to install and manage because it uses existing infrastructure and a single piece of hardware - the Hatteras Networks HN400 loop aggregator.

Does bandwidth fluctuate??
No, this product offers symmetrical bandwidth with speeds of up to 88 Mbps.

Is this a full duplex connection?
Yes.

What does the installation consist of?
Installation for Ethernet DIA is very similar to a T1 line. The local phone company delivers the copper loops, then a technician comes in and bonds them together using the Hatteras loop aggregator.

How is Business Ethernet different from Bonded T1 technology?
LaunchNet Ethernet DIA uses a loop bonding technology, while Bonded T1s use a link bonding technology. Although both are effective, loop bonding is a newer technology that reduces overhead and deals with loop failure more efficiently. That means more bandwidth remains available for applications and your connection is less likely to suffer if one loop fails.

Can I run VoIP over Ethernet DIA?
Yes, Ethernet DIA has true Quality of Service (QoS).

How do I know which speed is right for me?
The LaunchNet Sales Consultants will help you determine exactly which speed is best for your needs. Some of the things you should take into account are: applications you are running, number of employees using the connection.

What hardware is required?
Any router will work but we recommend a class 2 router.
